Collaborative Venture Support

Cook Family Foundation will consider grant requests to support collaborative community problem-solving among nonprofits and their partners. Potential applicants are encouraged to contact the foundation PRIOR to submitting a grant request.

  • Grants can be requested for the planning/development and/or implementation of collaborative community programming
  • At least one partner (the “lead” partner) should be a Capacity Building Partner (or equivalent)
  • Collaborative partners must agree to participate in a “Best Practices” Planning Session to outline key components of collaboration
    • Leadership
    • Accountability
    • Communication
    • Dispute resolution
    • Documentation
    • Evaluation
  • Collaborative initiative must be based on some documented need affecting Shiawassee County community, with measurable impact
  • Regular reports must be made toward objectives
